Everyone stared as they saw Emmett standing on the back of my truck. I parked my car and Emmett jumped off. He looked around and waited by my truck. I got off the driver's seat and slammed the door of my Chevy. I knew this was going to happen. I headed towards Emmett and stopped. He smiled and we started walking, I heard people whispering around us. Emmett and I parted ways when the bell rang, I headed towards Jessica by the door. "Hey Bella! How are you? You look nice today." She smiled and stopped me.
I looked at her suspiciously, "What do you want?" I tried to get past her, but that didn't work.
"I have a few questions to ask you. To pass, you have to answer them." She smirked.
"Fine, but let me in first." I tried to get past her again. This time, she let me pass. I sat at my desk and Jessica took the seat next to it. She started to question me, but as soon as the bell rang, I smiled. She would have to wait until lunch. Jessica groaned and pouted. The teacher started the class and I felt relieved. Jessica would have to wait for 4 more classes.

Why does time fly by so fast? One minute I was grinning about Jessica waiting for lunch, the next minute I am glaring at Jessica to stop questioning me. Emmett kept laughing in amusement, hearing the question she kept asking me over and over. I glared at him, "You find this amusing?"
He smiled and chuckled, "I find this VERY amusing." He laughed as he heard Jessica ask me the question again.
"Bella!" Jessica shook me and made me look her in the eye. "Answer my question! Are you and Emmett dating?" As soon as that came out of her mouth, Emmett started cracking up. This was starting to bug me. I shoved Emmett, but that didn't bother him at all! He just continued to laugh at full volume next to me.
I sighed, "No, Jessica. Emmett is only back 'cause he was causing trouble. Carlisle explained that he messed with the patient and added craziness to where ever they are." I looked down, another partial lie. By now Emmett had stopped laughing, I looked at him, he smiled but he was serious.
Jessica pondered for a moment, "Are you sure about that?" She mused. She looked at Emmett suspiciously.
I looked at her, "Yes, I'm sure. Ask Emmett, he'll say the same thing."
Jessica looked at both of us. Then she sighed, "No gossip here. Did you hear Bella? None of the new kids are here today." I never noticed it, so I looked over to the Cullens table, it was empty. I wonder if Emmett could smell their scent even if they are not here. I looked at him again, he just smiled. If he did smell them, he's pretty good at hiding it.
I looked past Jessica and stared at the window on the back wall. I thought about Edward. I wonder where they are right now? Has Bree adjusted? How long do I have to wait? I kept thinking about the Cullens. I never took my eyes off the window as I thought. I just didn't want to move my head anymore. I blinked and when I looked at the window, there I saw Alice, waving at me and grinning proudly. It threw me off and caused me to almost fall backward. I gasped and looked back at the window. She wasn't there anymore. Did she leave? Was it fake? As soon as Jessica left out table I asked Emmett. "Did you see Alice?"
I shook his head, "Only this morning. She was suspicious of me. I kept trying to leave, but she was right there in front of the door. She was trying to block me. I sat at the couch across the door and as soon as Jasper called her, I left the house."
I pursed my lips and thought for a moment. Was I going crazy? Emmett looked at me in a funny way, "Hey Bella, you okay?"
"I'm fine." I said. I stood and threw my food away. Emmett followed. We both left the cafeteria and parted ways.
As soon as I got to my class, Jessica was there. She was waiting for me again, probably here to ask me a billion more questions. I walked past her and sat down on my seat. She got inside the class and sat next to me. Immediately she began, "Bella, I need to ask you something, are the Cullens coming back? I only ask this 'cause Emmett is here and the new students aren't. So were the rumors true?"
I stared at the board pretending to pay attention to the teacher, he was eating something, probably not aware that class was about to start. Jessica got impatient and shook me. When she stopped, I gave up. I sighed and answered her, "Yes Jessica, the Cullens are coming back and so what if the new students aren't here. I don't know if the rumors are true 'cause I didn't hear them."
I turned to face the window. It was a little sunny outside, which makes others wonder why Emmett was here. I looked at the cars, and the forest next to them. Something shone and caught my eye, I squinted to see what it was and to my surprise, again, it was Alice. She was waving at me and smiling. I was happy to see her, but why is she here? I looked at the clock and checked the time, the bell was about to ring. I looked back outside to where Alice was and there was nothing. I shook my head and rubbed my forehead. Maybe I was going crazy.
