I headed towards my Gym class. For the first time, I was walking fast, almost running, to the worst class made on Earth.
I dressed slowly. I didn't want this class to end, but at the same time, I wanted to get away. I looked around, almost being cautious of my surroundings, then I heard the whistle.
-------
"Go! Quick! Quick! Get the ball!"
"Good job! Here comes the next one you guys."
Everyone was trying to their hardest. They were actually pretty good at volleyball, but for me, sports isn't really any good. That explains the reason why they are trying their hardest. They were trying to keep the ball away from me. It didn't offend me, I actually kinda agree. I worked with them, staying away at where the volleyball was going and out of their way when they needed to spike the ball or something.
I walked to the back of the court, avoiding contact with the ball or anybody in the court. I didn't want to be part of this. I looked around, everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. Laughing, teasing and congratulating their teammates. They all looked happy.
I turned to look the other way when I noticed one of the new girls. She wasn't dressed for P.E. like the rest of us. She wore her black, skinny-legged jeans; dark red tanktop with a small black jean jacket, and dark red high heels. Her honey-blond waves was set down to fall just a little below her shoulders. She seemed a little tense. Her black eyes seemed to sparkle with lust each and every time someone passed. I tried to figure out why.....she seemed so bored and out of this world. She reminded me of Rosalie. I wonder how they are right now....
"DUCK!" I turned my head the side, looking to see who said that. Then at that moment, something hit me square in the face.
----------
"Psst! Bella, are you alright? Bella, wake up!"
I groaned and turned around. What happened? I opened my eyes to see I was in my bedroom. How did I get here?
"Bella?"
I turned towards the side of my room. Checking to see who it was. Entering through my window was someone I never expected to see. She shone in the sunlight, looking as beautiful as I saw her last. I jumped off my bed and ran to meet her. "Alice, oh Alice! You don't know how much I have missed you." I hugged her tightly. I didn't want her to go.
"I missed you too Bella." she looked at me and smiled. I smiled back, with Alice, she always seems to bounce off her happiness to others. It felt comforting finally seeing her. "Bella are you okay? I saw what happened and you took a pretty hard fall. I got worried an-"
I cut her off, "Alice I'm fine. If I wasn't I wouldn't be up right now, would I?" I smiled. I was so happy to just see her. I wanted to ask her so many questions.
"Sure, if you say so Bella, but you were out for a while......"
My smile faded, "What do you mean?" I looked at her. I was confused.
"Bella, you passed out on Friday, it's already Sunday."
"WHAT?!" I stared at her bug eyed, in total and complete shock. "How could I have taken that hard of a fall? And only be a volleyball in the face! How is that possible?!" I started rambling in frustration. Unable to answer any of these questions myself. "Wait, you said you 'saw,' then why are you here on the day I 'wake up'?"
"I've been here since Friday. I saw what was going to happen to you and rushed myself over here. I didn't want Edward to worry more about you and forget what he has to do. He has been distracted for the last 6 days now Bella."
"Oh. So you guys are still up in Alaska huh? What's the good news and the bad news up there?"
She raised her right eyebrow. "Do you really want to know? This can take a while."
"Well, you have all day."
"Fine, I'll tell you the good news first. Good news is that we managed to get Bree and got her to the Denali. They are helping her change her ways to become a 'vegetarian' vampire. But......"
"But.....?"I started to question her.
"But, Edward found out through her mind, that there are 6 more new vampires. And a group of them -- mostly over 80 years old, but they are all about 16 - 18 physically, had been going around and making new vampires. They seem unstoppable. Once we find someone, 2 more vampires has been created. It would be tiring if we can grow weary. Edward thinks that probably Victoria is included in this, so is Laurent."
"Do you guys need help? I could come up with yo-"
"No Bella. Edward would get mad if I were to put you into this. You'd be in more danger way worse than the James incident."
I shook my head as flashbacks of that night had appeared. James breaking my leg, telling me to say to Edward to 'Avenge me.' Glass everywhere, the excruciating pain of the venom in my blood stream. I thought I was going to die. "Alice that isn't fair, you shouldn't have reminded me." I held on to her arms tighter, trying to forget those memories.
"I'm sorry Bella, but you can't come. I can't let you and I won't let Edward down."
"Hmph!" I turned away from her. Pretending to be fuming.
"You do know that I can see that you are faking it. You really are a bad actress." she laughed.
I turned back around and smiled at her. I was laughing with her too.
"Alice, can't you stay?"
"No, I'm sorry, but I gotta go at 6pm. No one knows I am here. I told them I was hunting. I don't know if they will be believe me that I took 2 days hunting...." her voice trailed off as she muttered the rest to herself.
I sighed. I guess I won't be seeing Edward anytime soon. I looked at the clock. It was already 5:41pm. Alice was going to leave soon. "Alice?"
"Hmm?" she looked up, staring straight into my eyes.
"Since I can't go up there, can you tell Edward to please get back soon. I need to explain to him a lot of things especially the new people here. They say that they are the new Cullens, that they will be taking over the school soon. And I wanted to talk about how I miss you guys and how I wish to see you guys playing baseball again."
She smiled. "We miss you too Bella. And about the baseball, you might probably want to put a rain check on that for until a couple more months."
I laughed. Oh how I longed to be in that field again. To see them running fast through the trees, and hearing thunder as the ball hits the bat. I smiled at the mere thought of it.
"Well Bella, looks like I have to go." she stood and I turned around looking at the clock. 6pm. How time flies by so fast.
"Make sure you don't get hurt Alice."
"Me get hurt? Aww come on Bella, what about you? You got hit in the face already. BY A VOLLEYBALL!" she snickered at the thought of seeing me get hit.
"It isn't funny Alice!"
"Then why are you smiling?!"
I tried my best to hide my smile, but it just wouldn't work. It did seem pretty funny. "Just don't spread it around everyone in the family."
Alice took a step back inches away from the window. "Oh I don't know Bella. Edward CAN read minds. It might slip and Edward will see it. I might not spread it, but he MIGHT."
"ALICE!" I ran towards her, but in a blink of an eye she was out of the window and downstairs in the grass. She looked up at me and smiled.
"Goodbye Bella, I'll try not to think about it!"
"Bye." I waved at her and she was gone. And as if my happiness was with her, it drained out of my system fast. Leaving me with anxiety and sadness. When was I going to see them again?
