"Don't...Move" he whispered again.
I stayed still, watching Jessica and Angela head for the car. Don't they know I'm not there? I watched them walk happily towards the car. I was about to give up on hope when Angela began to turn her head.
It was swift, but the man holding me pulled back into the shadows and I was left alone. Who was that? "Bella!! Come on!" Angela yelled for me to hear. I smiled weakly and gestured at her. She turned back around and headed back to the car.
Who was behind me? I turned my head around to see who the mystery person was, but all that was behind me was the little boutique we visited. Everyone inside was putting things away, they were probably closing.
I looked over to the bushes, to see anything, a figure, eyes, anything else. I frowned a little in my frustration, a vampire was behind me, could it have been Edward? No. That wasn't Edward's voice I heard. The man's voice was velvety smooth, but it had a n edge to it. Like he was resisting something. Probably resisting me, to bite me.
I turned back around facing the car and it was right in front of me. "Helloooo? Earth to Bella?" Jessica teased me from inside the car. "Come on! I'm hungry! You can practically hear my stomach growling!" I laughed lightly and entered the car. "So...where to?" Jessica asked.
"What about that cute little Italian restaurant down by the boat docks? I heard that they have really good food there," Angela looked over at me, then back to Jessica. "So is it decided?" she asked. "Bella?"
"Sure, why not. Let's go!" I said. They laughed and joined in.

I sat on my bed trying to stop the rush in my head. So many things went on today. It wasn't for the fact that Jessica overreacted on her outfit, but it bothered me on how I never got to see who was behind me.
Was it Edward playing a joke? Emmett possibly?
I sighed as I leaned back to lie down. I just need to rest. It'll be more hectic tomorrow with the party, the screaming, the laughter. Ughhh....I so don't want to be there. I closed my eyes and rested for a moment, I can get through this.
I heard a chuckle and my eyes flew open. There lying on the bed next to me was Edward. He looked amazing as ever, but this wasn't the time to gush at his god-likeness. "Bella you worry too much," It was out of nowhere, but Edward said it.
"It's 'cause of all the drama right now..." I sighed and snuggled up closer to Edward, "I just want to be alone with you."
"We will be...soon enough...just the two of us..." his voice trailed as he leaned in to kiss me.
The kiss was short, but it was enough to make my heart go crazy. He leaned away, pulling my face away gently, "I better stop before I give you a heart attack." He chuckled as he wrapped his arms around me. He looked over his shoulder to check the time, "Bella you better sleep."
I pouted, "It's only 10, why would I sleep? There's no school tomorrow."
"Well...if you want to make it to the par-"
"The party isn't until 7PM."
Edward sighed as he gave up. "Bella, I need to tell you something." He looked deep into my eyes as he spoke, "I told you I was going to be watching you when you went shopping, but I am truly sorry for the almost incident that happened. I shouldn't have let me guard down...then that vile mons-"
"Wait Edward...what happened?" I knew he was there, but I never really got the sense on why he let his guard down.
"Here's what happened: Like I said, I was keeping watch on you. I stayed on the roof of the boutique you went in and waited. About the time when Jessica was looking for her dress, I sensed someone behind me. I turned to see a woman. She had dark black hair that was in a side ponytail. I couldn't see much of her face - for she was facing away from the lights. She had an evil look in her mind...and as I read her mind...all she could think about was you." He paused, "She was planning to kill you Bella. I couldn't let that happen. I kept blocking her off and fighting her. When I sensed her partner behind you. I looked down to see who it was, but she hit me. Then suddenly as Angela yelled your name...they were gone. Possibly afraid of getting discovered."
I stared at him shocked, knowing that there was more to this story. "Did any of them look like the new students at school?"
"No. I didn't recognize the 2. I don't know if they are newborns or just wanderers, but I should have killed them when I had the chance."
I stared at Edward with nothing to say. I know its for my safety, but to me it seems inhumane.
"What re you thinking?" he asked.
"Nothing much. Just that I know that it was for my own safety, but I feel like it's not the best way to get rid of them. Is there another way?"
"No. This is the best way." He looked over and checked the clock, "Bella..."
That was all he had to say and i understood. He wanted me to sleep. I snuggled up closer to him as he hummed my lullaby. He began stroking my hair as I fell asleep.
I drifted to sleep in his arms...awaiting the next morning.
