My eyes grew big as the shock came in. What happened to Edward?! I looked at him worried and he shook his head. "Bella, I'm fine. It was just unexpected. No one knew what was to come. Even I wasn't able to tell myself. We were all so distracted." He pulled the sleeves back down and everyone came forward to be closer.
"Edward what happened?" I looked down, why didn't they tell me before?
Edward lifted my head up, "Well, we're willing to tell you if you pay attention." I sat up and motioned for him to continue. "The first day we came to Alaska, the Denali was in bad shape. They were really worried about Bree. Tanya re-explained everything and told us where they last saw Bree. We decided that Alice, Esme and Rosalie should stay in around the house and search for her in the neighborhood or around town. In the meantime Emmett, Jasper, Carlisle and I headed out to search in the forests and outside of town. It took a few weeks, and I don't know how they found her, but Alice had called me, she told us to come back. When we got there, we had learned the Bree decided to return home herself. Tanya and her sisters rejoiced, but we all noticed that something was wrong with her. We all talked to Bree, asking her what she had done, where she went and if she possibly knew who turned her." He paused for a moment, "All of us anticipated her answer, but she didn't reply at all. Her mood suddenly changed, she became angry and defensive. She started screaming at us on why we were caring and that she hated herself for what she'd become...."
FLASHBACK ----
'I HATE THIS!' Bree began sobbing as she placed her hands on her head and grips some of her hair. 'HOW CAN YOU GUYS STAND THIS? EVERY MINUTE AND EVERY SECOND I WANT TO KILL SOMEONE...I want it to stop...' Everyone around her had their heads down. They knew she was speaking the truth.
'Bree..we all went through it.' Tanya took a step closer, 'All of us started out that way, but we all had reasons to stop and to switch over.' She directed her hand at her sisters, 'We all stopped drinking human blood for our love of them. We loved the men, and we decided it's inhumane and switched to be a "vegetarian", you might think it's stupid, but it's for the better.'
'I DON'T CARE! EITHER WAY I'D STILL WANT TO KILL PEOPLE!' she hesitated, "I-I just don't want to end up hurting anyone and everyone I love...I don't want you guys to come after me...I hate it on how I always have to depend on you guys for help...My only wish is to be left alone.' Her voice suddenly rose, you could sense the anger in her voice, 'I JUST WANT TO DIE!' Bree stood and runs out, but Edward blocks her. He kept a grip on her as she kept trying to escape. Bree's anger took over her and she attacked Edward. She bit him on his arm, trying to tear it off. Irina and Tanya acted fast and immediately made Edward release his grip. Bree ran out the door frustrated. Everyone got to Edward as Irina chased Bree...
FLASHBACK ----
"....I was fine, she really didn't bite me that deep, that's why you can hardly see it. I wanted to tell her that it was okay, but she just ran out before I had any time to act. Irina never caught up to Bree. We found her a few days later on the docks, we didn't know what she was doing there, but she said that the ocean gave her comfort. We tried to talk her back on coming home, but she kept her face blank and didn't speak to us." Edward looked at me in the eyes, "That's when I called you. As Tanya and Irina tried talking to Bree, Alice had called me with urgent news. She said that she saw someone or at least us in your home. We..." Edward hesitated, "She saw us attacking you Bella. She knew it wasn't right. We already had gone hunting in morning, so she was headed for you home. When she said that the school was in view, she hung up. I quickly dialed your phone number. I was happy to have heard your voice again, but I knew I needed to be quick to save you. When you told me that I was there with everyone, I felt my heart sank. It felt like I was too late and that you were going to be gone. I wouldn't be able to live without you..." Edward became gloomy for a second, he then shook it off and smiled my favorite crooked smile as he held my hand. I felt the blood fill my cheeks as I looked down, he chuckled and continued on. "I immediately ran out of the docks and headed back. I didn't know if you would still be alive if I were able to get there, I started to plan out what would I do without you, but I had to believe and prove to myself that you were still breathing. I got near your neighborhood, and I heard Alice's voice mentioning you in her thoughts, 'Bella! Bella's alive Edward! Come out to her backyard!' She kept repeating that in her head until she saw me." He laughed a little, "It felt so good too see you again. After all the mishap with the 'Cullens', we brought you upstairs and you fell asleep in my arms. I left near 5 am and, as much as it pained me so, we left..."
I sighed, so he wasn't there the next day...thank goodness that it was just a dream. Edward furrowed his eyebrows in confusion, the emotion on my face must have worried him. I shook my head, "No, it's okay." I tried to think all of this through. Edward was here with the fake Cullens, but he wasn't there the next day....He never kept his promise. I looked down in sadness as I thought about his promise, I really wanted him to stay.
Edward lifted my head and looked at me, "What are you thinking?"
I closed my eyes and sighed, "I am just so happy that you are all okay...Never leave me like that again..." I gripped his arms as if it was for dear life...maybe it was.

We gathered around the dining table, Carlisle said there was something he wanted to talk about, so we all came here. Edward sat next to and Alice on my other side, she was talking to Jasper. Rosalie stood at the corner while Emmett was hugging her. Esme was across Edward talking to him. Carlisle came in with the food and water that they insisted. I was okay with not eating, but Esme and Edward knew that "we humans" get hungry. I began eating the ravioli Carlisle cooked, everyone became quiet. Why are they watching me? I took a bite and Carlisle cleared is throat. Everyone directed their attention at Carlisle as he began to talk. "I wanted to bring something up to everyone. Since the incident at Bella's house, I am starting to wonder if the vampires in Alaska had came here. We couldn't know for sure, but those were vampires in Bella's house. They all seemed to have powers of their own. The "Alice" one had made Bella," he turned his head in my direction, "and Alice both fell unconscious."
He paused, and I began to speak up. "There's more to it..." I said looking down. "When I became unconscious, it felt like I was trapped somewhere. It wad dark and I kept calling out Alice's name. I ran in what direction I thought might have been, but somehow I fell in water. It was deep and I tried to swim up, but I couldn't...the water just kept getting deeper. That's when I lost control on my legs and arms. I couldn't move them, it was like I was tied up. Then something pounded on my chest and I began to drown..." I looked over at Edward, "When Edward called my name, I woke up. If it wasn't for him, I could have probably died in my own head."
I turned my head to face Carlisle and he nodded. "Was it the same for you Alice?"
She shook her head, "No. Actually its a little similar, but different. When I was there, I was back in the asylum. I ran and followed the long hallway. I had thought I had heard Bella's voice come from there so I ran. Then I noticed something was following me, I ran faster but it caught up, when it got to me, I saw that it was...." she hesitated, "it was Jasper attacking me." Her voice began to break as she spoke, "I-I didn't know why he was there, but I could face the fact that Jasper was about to kill me. As he got nearer, he trapped me against the wall. I couldn't attack Jasper, I didn't want to hurt him." Jasper reached over and held Alice's hand, "Before Jasper attacked, I had woke up. I felt relieved that it wasn't true. I was in Jasper arms when I woke up, I awoke when we were heading back to Alaska. I hugged him and raced him back." Alice smiled at Jasper. That's what Alice had to go through? Nothing like mine, I was grateful Edward wasn't there to see what I had to go through...but for her, Jasper was there. No, worse than that, he was attacking her!
Carlisle furrowed his eyebrows in concern, "Obviously, this is worse than we expected. We don't know anything! Where they've been, who they are, and what they are planning."
"Uhhh...I might have something." Emmett raised his hand a little above his head, "When I was here, I went to school and it smelled like as if a bunch of vampires had been there. I don't know what they look like, people around me kept saying that the new students weren't here, so maybe Bella will know something." He turned his head to me, he moved his head a little to the side as if to prove that I know something and I was hiding it.
I sighed, "Emmett's right, there were new students. At first it was just 4 of them at first. One of them is in my Gym class. A few days later 3 more new students came. I never bothered with it, but something about them was weird. On the day you said you guys were going to return, there were 9 new students. I don't know how many people there are now, but I never bothered with it. It wasn't important to me, so I never brought it up. They seemed like vampires to me, 'cause they acted like you guys before I met you. They never ate or talked to anyone. So were they the ones who came to my house? They're all vampires?" I turned my head towards Carlisle. He seemed troubled by all this.
"This is worse that I thought." Carlisle said, "There are more of them than us. Sooner or later the Volturi will come here. No group is ever as big as us, and yet there is one even bigger, They'll out number us. If the Volturi gets here and deals with this, Bella can be in danger, for she knows about us."
"Wait Carlisle," Edward faced Carlisle as he spoke, "How is it possible that someone was able to get into Bella's mind? I thought that was impossible."
Carlisle though for a moment, "That is certainly true son. I don't know how that works..."
Emmett then spoke up, "One of them might have a- hmmm....like a powers to counter Bella's power. Like an Anit-Mental Shield maybe?"
"You may be right Emmett,"Carisle said, "We'll just have to wait..."
